Blue Muse 2 by joeyv7 Blue Muse 2 by joeyv7
a more subdued nod to the Fauves than Blue Muse 1, and especially after my favorite Symbolist Odilon Redon.

I like the shape of his nose! Oh, and the colors too. The overall effect makes him look like a genie out of some middle eastern myth....

Lordy.....
Wha-...

I don't know which one I like better either, but if I had to choose, it'd be this one. The liquid element to it...it gets me. I can't say what it is, but it gets me.
I really don't know what else to say :blushes:

Cool colors and expression. It's the guy of your Red series, right? He always seems to be on extasis or something :P

Thanks Kristian, I tend to agree. Colors are more muted here, but more unified and less distracting overall :hmm:

I like this one more. The blue version is much brighter, but this one sort of captures the mystery. Also the hint of blue among the green makes it glow a little, like watching far away dusty nebula.

I tried an antique filter on this one, and I liked how it unified the picture. The blue one I can't scrap yet because I like the intense colors. It's just becoming more fun to experiment like this, and I'm learning PS little by little.
OH the DD skin swatches? I downloaded OK but on got a swatch palette of primary red blue and green. Disappointing, but maybe it's because I'm on a Mac

Thanks Karin! I'm not surprised you like him from the excellent way you use color. I was lucky enough to see his work in Chicago years ago. I also like Chagall & Puvis de Chavannes (sp)

Thanks for pointing out Puvis de Chavannes, one lesser known artist, but I found him on this great website. [link]

I'm always rediscovering new influences. For instance, I might study the style of Klimt in future, as well as Odelon Redon. I don't copy their style, but experiment and incorporate what I like about their work. For instance the gold and patterns of Klimt. I really love Redon's vibrant colours, especially his flower paintings. :)

 I was gaga for Klimt, and then kind of progressed to Redon (I was lucky enough to see alot of his works in Chicago exhibiton) and I *think* de Chavannes was really influential to the Surrealists (memory's going :blushes:) OOhh, thanks for the link, looks interesting! ;) My fave Redon is along these lines - [link]

There's an even better one but darned if I can find it :hmm:

That's lovely! I love Redon's use of colour. It glows! Picasso was always my number one love, but I love a lot of artist's work, for instance Georgia O'Keefe's flower paintings, and did I mention Rousseau. I love some of his paintings.
